What is james howlett?

James Howlett, also known as Logan and most famously as Wolverine, is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. He was created by writer Len Wein and artist John Romita Sr., and first appeared in "The Incredible Hulk" #180 in 1974.

James Howlett was born in Alberta, Canada, in the late 19th century to wealthy landowners. After witnessing his father's murder at a young age, Howlett's mutant abilities began to manifest, including his retractable bone claws and accelerated healing factor.

Howlett adopted the alias "Logan" and eventually joined the Canadian government's covert ops team, Weapon X, where he underwent the adamantium bonding process that coated his bones and claws in the indestructible metal.
